Every Boy Deserves Someone In His Corner

We mentor boys, build confidence, and create the support they need to grow into strong young men.

We partner with independent schools to create mentorship cohorts where boys are supported in discovering their strengths, building confidence, and developing the leadership and life skills they need to navigate the world around them.

School-Based Mentorship Cohorts

Lit Squad Book Club

Lit Squad creates a space where boys engage with stories that reflect their experiences while expanding how they see the world. Through reading and thoughtful conversation, they strengthen their voices, curiosity, and critical thinking. Hosted online, Lit Squad brings boys together each week in a virtual book club that can be joined from anywhere, whether or not the program is offered at their school.

Stories That Help Boys See Themselves and Understand the World Around Them

Awareness & Belonging

Every boy deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported in the spaces where he learns and grows. For many minority boys navigating predominantly white institutions, that sense of belonging is not always guaranteed. The Boys’ Room creates mentorship cohorts where boys can build genuine relationships, share their experiences, and grow alongside peers who understand them. Within these spaces, boys strengthen their confidence, develop their voices, and learn that they are not alone in their journey. When boys feel a true sense of belonging, they are better equipped to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Confidence & Respect

The stories boys encounter shape how they understand themselves and the world around them. Through Lit Squad, our virtual book club, boys come together each Sunday to read, reflect, and engage in thoughtful conversation. Guided by a Lit Squad instructor, they explore books that reflect their experiences while also introducing new perspectives. These discussions create space for boys to ask questions, share ideas, and listen to one another with curiosity and respect. By seeing themselves represented in literature and engaging with meaningful stories, boys develop a deeper awareness of their identity and the world they are part of.

Leadership

We believe leadership begins with confidence, voice, and the ability to engage with others. Through guided group discussions, public speaking opportunities, and confidence-building exercises, boys learn to express their ideas and listen thoughtfully to those around them. Within these spaces, they also practice peer mentorship—encouraging and supporting one another as they grow. These experiences help boys develop the communication, self-awareness, and resilience that strong leaders carry with them. By nurturing these skills early, we help prepare boys to step into leadership roles within their schools and communities.

Thank you for your work. I'm now a fan, and please consider me an ally not only as a parent but as a Dean of Students at The Speyer School."
