For Schools & Group Organizers

Community Cohorts

Shared mentorship experiences for boys in grades 3–11.

Community Cohorts bring boys together through partnerships between schools or organized groups when a dedicated school-based cohort isn't feasible. TBR provides the mentorship experience while partners help bring the group together.

Understanding the Program

What Is a Community Cohort?

A Community Cohort is a shared Boys' Room mentorship group organized through a partnership between multiple schools or an established group organizer, such as a parent association or community organization.

Boys participate in guided conversations, activities, and mentorship alongside peers from their own or other school communities. Participation is coordinated through the partnership rather than individual family registration.

When This Model Makes Sense

A Flexible Way to Bring Boys Together

When one school has too few students for its own cohort

Schools can explore joining students together in a shared group rather than establishing a separate cohort.

When multiple schools want to collaborate

Partner schools can bring students together and coordinate a shared mentorship experience with TBR.

When an organizer brings together a group of families

Parent associations and community organizers can explore coordinating an established group outside a school-funded program.

What Boys Experience

What Boys Gain Through Mentorship

Mentorship & Support

Caring TBR mentors guide conversations that encourage reflection, personal growth, and stronger relationships.

Belonging & Connection

Consistent small-group experiences create opportunities for boys to build trust, friendship, and community with their peers.

Communication & Confidence

Through discussion and reflection, boys practice sharing ideas, expressing themselves, and listening to different perspectives.

Leadership & Growth

Guided experiences help boys explore leadership, strengthen self-awareness, and develop skills they can carry into their everyday lives.

How It Works

How Community Cohorts Work

We coordinate the program structure, schedule, participation, and virtual or in-person arrangements.

3
