Cindy McField-Asamoah
Founder
Cindy is a successful entrepreneur and mother whose personal experience growing up in Massachusetts as well as being a parent of two brown boys lit a fire in her to start this program. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work and a Real Estate broker License. Cindy has experience working as a social worker in schools as well as over 25 years of experience in Real Estate working with people.
Jonathan Max-Guy
Leadership Mentor
Jonathan Max is a senior at Fordham University studying Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing. As a Black student who has attended predominantly white institutions across multiple states, he understands the challenges many underrepresented students face and is passionate about helping young people navigate those experiences with confidence. Jonathan is proud to support The Boys’ Room's mission of mentorship, belonging, and leadership development.
Alfred Brandon Woodward
Leadership Mentor
Alfred “Brandon” Woodward is a Flint, Michigan native and Howard University graduate who studied International Business. He spent more than eight years at Goldman Sachs and later led community engagement and DEI initiatives at Lime Connect, a nonprofit supporting individuals with disabilities. Currently pursuing a degree in International Affairs at Columbia University, Alfred is passionate about mentorship and helping young people develop the confidence, skills, and leadership needed to succeed.
Christopher Moore
Operations Manager
Chris is a passionate mentor with a wealth of experience in programs that uplift young boys and support their journey into high school. A proud graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, Chris is committed to inspiring and empowering the youth. His dedication to making a positive impact in the community shines through in his efforts to help the next generation reach their fullest potential.
Taiyo Myrthil
Leadership Mentor
Taiyo Myrthil is a Brooklyn native and Stanford University graduate with a degree in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. Having spent much of his academic journey in predominantly white institutions, he understands the importance of mentorship, belonging, and representation. Taiyo is passionate about helping young Black students build confidence, form meaningful connections, and navigate their own educational journeys.
John Waller
Program Manager
John Waller is a Bronx native and Tufts University graduate, earning degrees in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering. His passion for mentorship began with caring for his younger siblings and grew through leadership roles in the Black Student Union, Africana Center, Center for STEM Diversity, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He is committed to helping young Black men navigate and thrive in academic and professional spaces.
Dominique M. Fowler
Leadership Mentor
Given Dr. Dom's experiences growing up and while attending an HBCU and two PWIs, he became a Program Instructor because he wants to support young Black and Brown boys along their journey, something he wishes he had at their age. So much so that he studied the impact of cross-racial friendships on Black male graduates’ social engagement during their undergraduate years at a predominantly White institution. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.. He believes in authenticity and approaches his work and life with energy and creativity. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, music, DIY projects, and spending time with his dog, Stony.
Nia Scott
Leadership Mentor & Book Club Facilitator
Nia is a student of Psychology at Fordham University. Her passion lies in exploring the workings of the creation of positive self identity especially in black youth. She uses her fervor to fuel her as she works with the youth department of the New York Public Library and nurtures the young minds of our Boys’ Room program. Though her yearning for answers has lead her to academic spaces beyond her home in Jamaica such as, Costa Rica and now New York, her life's purpose still lies in the social and cultural development of her home island.
Dylan Bell
Leadership Mentor & Bookclub Facilitator
Dylan is an International Relations student at Tufts University with a strong focus on global business and personal finance. He is driven to use this knowledge to help future generations achieve financial success. As a graduate of an independent secondary school, he is committed to mentoring and empowering students with similar backgrounds. This dedication is reflected in his extensive peer leadership experience, where he consistently guides and inspires others through service. A lover of books, sports, and music, Dylan balances his academic pursuits with his diverse interests.

Denée Carrington
Advisory Team
Denee Carrington is an innovative product and marketing executive with 25 years of experience driving strategic growth, brand elevation, and customer experience. Currently at Chase, she brings deep expertise in business strategy, new product innovation, and go-to-market execution across both emerging and mature markets. A creative problem solver and collaborative leader, Denee is known for her customer-centric approach to developing products and marketing strategies that unlock new opportunities and deliver measurable results. She holds an MBA from the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
Kobla Asamoah
Advisory Team
Kobla Asamoah is a business advisor, educator, and Founding Partner of Caminus Ventures, where he supports entrepreneurs and growing businesses. With experience spanning entrepreneurship, nonprofit leadership, economic development, and corporate finance, he is passionate about creating opportunities for underrepresented communities. Kobla also teaches Social Entrepreneurship at NYU Stern and the School of Visual Arts. He holds an MBA from NYU Stern and a BA from Tufts University.
